 Facebook yazılım mühendisi Joe Hewitt, iPhone kullanıcıları için geliştirilen yeni Facebook 3.0 aplikasyonunun Apple yönetimine sunulduğunu açıkladı. Geçtiğimiz hafta Twitter benzeri Facebook Lite hizmetini devreye sokan Facebook’un yeni aplikasyonunun 10 milyon kullanıcı tarafından indirilmesi bekleniyor. Yeni Facebook 3.0, PC veya laptop ekranlarında olduğu gibi “haber akışlarının” takip edilmesine olanak sağlıyor. Ayrıca ana sayfa kolayca kişiselleştirilebiliyor.

Facebook 3.0 for iPhone submitted for review

A new version of the Facebook app for the iPhone has been submitted to Apple for review, according to one of its developers. Joe Hewitt, a software engineer at Facebook, writer on his Twitter page: “Just uploaded Facebook for iPhone 3.0 to the App Store for review. ”. Mr Hewittsaid he would post more details about the application, currently being examined by Apple’s experts, on Facebook next week, but he included screen shots for a taster.

The new version should allow iPhone users to access a site on their mobiles similar to the one they see on their computers. The “much-improved app” is set to include features including a News Feed more like the one on the regular Facebook site, as well as the ability to “like” items and customize your home screen. Facebook is consistently one of the top free apps on the Apple App Store, and was the most popular app of all time when Apple released its sales rankings earlier this year. Once the new Facebook version is available, more than 10 million iPhone and iPod touch users could potentially download the update. Last week Facebook unveiled Facebook Lite, a simplified version for the site, which provides a stream of user updates and looks similar to Twitter, the microblogging service. Facebook invited a select group of its users to test the new stripped-down version of the site, with some industry experts believing they have rolled out the new version to compete with Twitter. Others argue that it is intended to speed up the process of viewing the site, particularly in countries with limited broadband internet connections.
